Destination weddings are becoming much more popular, especially since the cost of the traditional wedding is growing by leaps and bounds. The concept behind the destination wedding is to create a more intimate and often exotic setting to exchange vows. Occasionally, the bride and groom go alone, but more often they invite family members and close friends to join them. The overall atmosphere is much more laidback and gives the couple the opportunity to spend time with their family and friends. Most importantly, a destination wedding typically places fewer demands on the bride and groom and provides them with more time to focus on each other and the vows they are taking.
GIPSON DESTINATION WEDDING FEATURE
"My wife and I became engaged two years ago. I am from Detroit and she is from Brooklyn and we had no idea where to get married. One day we thought...why not have a destination wedding? So, after searching for travel agents, we found Prestige Travel right here in Columbia. We went in for an appointment and that's when we met our soon to best friend, Betsi! We came to her with a bunch of thoughts and ideas and she made it happen. Betsi told us where we would get the most bang for our buck and which resorts she typically recommends. The first resort she showed us was the Dreams Riviera Cancun in the Riviera Maya of Mexico and it was a winner!
Fast forward to three months before the wedding and Betsi is working on overdrive...answering emails, getting rooms booked and handling all of the details for the wedding. We had roughly 60 guests and Betsi and her staff handled it like true champions! Betsi really is a one stop shop and booking with her will leave you in good hands. No matter how many times I contacted her she made it happen and has made me a customer for life! Thanks for everything!" Brandon Gipson
